Things that would be more enjoyable than last night’s game

October 22, 2010

Happy  Friday! I feel hungover already and I haven’t even started drinking. Seriously, anyone got some Advil?

Last night’s game between the New Jersey Devils and the Montreal Canadiens may go down as the worst game of the 2010-2011 NHL season. A righteous suckfest that I doubt even Devils fans enjoyed, despite their team’s 3-0 win.

In fact, I can think of a ton of things that would be more enjoyable than last night’s game:

  • Having to be the NJD trainer in charge of Martin Brodeur’s conditioning.
  • Detoxing from a heroin addiction.
  • Watching a team you hate come out of the gate with a 4-0 start.
  • Attending a fancy dinner and arriving to find you have been seated at a table with Damien Cox, Adrian Dater and… Jack Todd.
  • A bikini wax.
  • A job as a bikini-waxer.
  • Being an Ottawa Senators fan this season and watching Dany Heatley win a Stanley Cup with the Sharks.
  • I mean, it could happen… technically.
  • Remember debate club? Yeah, your opponent is Stephane Auger.
  • Having your eyeball tattoed.
  • With the Toronto Maple Leafs logo.
  • You’re on a plane. It’s a 16-hour flight. And you’re sitting next to Sarah Palin.
  • Listening to Pierre McGuire go on and on about Jordan Caron of the Boston Bruins, starting about a game and a half from now.
  • Watching another Habs-Senators game… oh wait.
  • (You know, cause he’s fat.)

You should know the Sharks are a last place team at the moment, so Heatbag didn’t really improve much on team choice hehe

Also I think you missed “having to hear how it’s Price’s fault” even as a Sens fan it’s getting painful.

    Great read 🙂

    I have more stuff:

    – Getting an invasive vaginal exam.
    – Hearing me sing Free To Be.
    – Dating a Leafs fan.

I think I’d enjoy 16 hours sitting with Sarah Palin… I mean, people pay good money for comedy shows!

Fun read though, definitely more so than last night’s game.

Solid read Actiove Stick! Unlike the Habs, the B’s showed up last night for another W. Barring massive injuries, a top 3 seed is in the bag! I have also noticed that the Leafs are coming back down to earth a little bit. Bank on another top 10 draft pick for the B’s.

The folks north of the border do not really understand the effectiveness of a Palin. Which is fine. However, just keep in mind who is holding office now and how high of a price we are paying for his comedic act…

    Harry M-

Not to turn this into a political blog, but are you really implying that having a woman who doesn’t know the difference between Canada and Russia as Vice-President would be somehow better than the current regime…?

      James P.

You are going to have to do better than that. Is that the best you got?

See the results on Nov. 2 and then you tell me what the US thinks of the current regime. The leader of the current regime isn’t fit to run the register at the Tim Hortons or a 7/11.

You must be a Leafs fan.

Because I dared potentially disagree with you, I must be a Leafs fan? And you tell me I’m not creative…?

I’ll leave the rest at that… this is clearly not the forum, or the medium, for this conversation.

You also should have added watching paint dry. Oh, well you did sort of by describing the Canadiens style of play courtesy of JM.
