Nice to meet you, Habs

March 17, 2010

Hi, Canadiens. Have we met already? You look really familiar. No, that’s not a line.Wait, I do know you… you’re my Habs, only you’ve dumped the loser boyfriend, lost 15 pounds, and… is that a new haircut?

I don’t know what happened to these boys during the Olympic break, but whatever it is, I’m totally on board with it. In fact I’d like to package it and apply it to my life. I promise to sell it to you guys at a sweetass discount, just mention promo code “ilovehiggy” at checkout.

At the risk of repeating the opinion of everybody, their mother, and their mother’s houseplants, for the love of God, J-Mart, put Sergei on the point on the PP already.

Mike Boone posted that Metro had one less goal than Alexei Kovalev. Despite my immense respect for Mike Boone, I had to look this up to believe it and found out that Metro has also played two fewer games. Interestingly enough, Metro has 10 powerplay goals, while Kovalev… has three. Either he doesn’t play the PP in Ottawa or, like, well, he’s Kovaleving.

I think AK46 should take a trip down the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and ask for a brain. Our own AK46 is the absolute best in the league at getting hit. Not that shies away from dishing out the hits himself, but like, seriously Andrei… A shift doesn’t go by without you being splattered all over the glass.

I find it cute that Gionta didn’t get a penalty for retaliating against Avery when we all know that had he retaliated against Del Zotto or someone he would have been sent straight to the box.

If I hear one more word about goaltending in Montreal, I will hurl. We go with Jaro. Doesn’t mean Price isn’t supremely talented with RIDICULOUS upside.

What I know for sure is this: Whichever goaltender they trade or lose to an offer sheet this summer or next summer will come back to seriously bite the Habs forever and ever.

I think we all owe it to the Czech Republic. It guess that’s no country for old men.

I’m not used to seeing the Habs doing themselves favours. It’s…nice.
