What Burkie did in 3 steps

January 31, 2010

Basically, here’s what happened:

Step 1: Burkie disposes of a bunch of scrubs, dead weights, a sieve and their cap hits.

Step 2: Burkie acquires two of Canada’s best players (that didn’t make the Olympic team) for said scrubs, dead weights, sieve and cap hits.

Step 3: Burkie causes Habs fan meltdown all over the interwebs. Gainey is useless and needs to get fired because Burkie hosed Calgary and Anaheim.

So what does this mean for everybody?

Burkie: Upgraded in goal and on the blueline. The zero offense he had is now at negative-56

Ron Wilson: Is excited about the new guys he’ll get to humiliate by calling them out to the Toronto media.

Toronto Canadian sports media: Will have something other than Price and Markov to talk about 24/7  between now and the 12th.

Dion Phaneuf: and Mike Komisarek on the same team, in the same dressing room. AWWWWWWWWWWWWKWARD…

J.S. Giguere: Gets to stone Montreal six times a year instead of just the one.

Matt Stajan, Ian White, Nicklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers, Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala: Might enjoy winning more than one game every three weeks. Except for Vesa Toskala.

Keith Aulie and Fredrik Sjostrom: Who are they?

Every cloud has a silver lining: The Habs have a shot at winning against Anaheim in March.

You guys: weren’t performing Habs rituals and look what happened.

As for me, I want to work for the people who made this:

In brief, traded 90% of his offense in those scrubs, dead weights, a sieve and their cap hits for an overrated room problem made worse by the fact he’ll be with one of his girlfriend’s ex’s, a scrub, a possible dead weight, and an overpaid sieve and stretched their cap hits to the limit.

    Sounds good.

didn’t even make the Komisarek-Phanoof connection at first. Awesome.
