Game 9: New York Islanders at Montreal Canadiens, October 22

October 22, 2009

Last season, the New York Islanders won a total of 26 games. Two of them were against Montreal. They were swept by Washington, Boston, Carolina, Philadelphia and Minnesota (2-game series). They did beat Detroit, though.

Marty Biron is probably in goal for the Isles. That pretty much spells disaster for the Habs. Jonny T is coming off some heroics in last night’s win (their first) against Carolina, too. However, it’s back-to-back games for the Islanders, and also, they suck, so there’s hope. Still, don’t get too excited, we’re talking about the Habs.

Three questions:

1. Who will score the Habs own-goal this time given that Ryan O’Byrne is on IR?
2. How much do I love Brian Gionta?
3. How many points will Mark Streit get?

Three predictions:

1. MAB will play a much better game than he did Thursday.
2. My money’s on Hal Gill for question 1 above.
3. Marty Biron will stand on his head for most of the game and let in a weak one. I wanna say by Chipchura.
